Camp Description

Pitching sessions will be broken up by specific pitch and focus on the entire fundamental base of each pitch. From there advanced skills and spin will be taught through spin drills, body position, & live throwing. Strength and core will also be a major focus for the upper age groups in order to work on creating speed and power. In the afternoon, pitchers will throw to catchers with the aim of transferring the skills learned earlier to full pitching. Lunch will be included for all campers in registration fee and a camp snack bar for additional cost.

Catching sessions are broken down by the specific fundamentals all catchers must have; receiving, blocking, throwing, and stance. Strength of the core and flexibility will be a key focus for the upper age groups as all the best catchers have great core strength and flexibility. Following each fundamental session catchers will have the chance to apply what they learned into catching live for the pitchers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is lunch provided?
Yes. Please communicate any dietary restrictions with Sandra Simmons-Moton prior to the start of camp.

Do you offer discounts?
Yes. Discounts are offered for groups of 8 or more. Please contact Sandra Simmons-Moton prior to registering.

My camper is between age 7 - 12 and would like to add two days of All Skills following the conclusion of pitching camp. How do we do that?

We know a lot of pitchers and catchers are also hitters and play another position, if this is you this option is the best fit! Spend Monday and Tuesday being a pitcher or catcher and developing your skills for that position and spend your Wednesday and Thursday at all skills camp working on your defensive and offensive skill set. You will have the option to select an add-on during registration that will allow you to spend a week at Tiger Park with LSU softball staff, team, and coaches from across the country evolving your entire game and skill level.

My camper wants to hit. How do we make that happen?
Add-on nighttime hitting is offered in two sessions this year. You can CLICK HERE to access the Nighttime Hitting Session homepage. Please note the age restrictions that are set with each session.

Do you offer overnight options?

No.

Are accommodations made for camps?

Yes, all accommodations will be held on an individual basis and we ask you to please contact Sandra Moton for further information at lsusoftballcamp@gmail.com
